Transmission

There is no manual transmission option available for the Cube or Cubic but there are a choice of two different styles of automatic.

Automatic Transmission

The standard traditional 4 speed automatic transmission can be found in vehicles across the Nissan range. Highly regarded for its smoothness and unprecedented reliability the same transmission can be found in both the Cube and Cubic.

XTronic CVT M6

The XTronic CVT M6 can be used in traditional automatic mode or by manual shift of six pre set gears that offers a sporty feeling.

M6 - manual select is operated by a Formula one style steering wheel button setup.

XTronic CVT M6 offers improved fuel economy over traditional automatic transmission and delivers a smooth, pleasing performance in all sorts of driving situations.

The wider gear ratio range and reduced friction help improve both fuel economy and drivability performance. The vehicle response when climbing hills and coming out of turns is improved over that of previous CVTs. Moreover, linear control provides drivability with a prefect match between the feeling of acceleration and the driver’s sensibility.

XTronic CVT M6 was the worlds first steel-belt CVT and Nissan claim that by 2010 80% of all cars that it manufacturers will use this technology.

On the Cube and Cubic, XTronic CVT M6 was an option on all grades of car - approximately costing £600 when new.
